Volleyball Recap: Pelham Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Pelham came into Saturday's contest having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They won by a set and slipped past the Athens Golden Eagles 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since September 27th.

Aubrie Smith paced Pelham's offense, picking up 23 kills. Smith got some help from Bristol Hannah and her 33 assists. Smith also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Kayla Girardin, each putting up two.

Pelham's victory bumped their record up to 14-26. As for Athens, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-19 record this season.

Pelham has already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Lawrence County on the 11th. Athens does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
