It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the New Washington Mustangs can now relate to. They received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 55-39 to the Cougars. New Washington has struggled against the Cougars recently, as their game on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Liza Froedge continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Trinity Lutheran, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds. Froedge is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 17 or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Marley Warren, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.
New Washington has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season. As for Trinity Lutheran, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-11.
New Washington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Trinity Lutheran won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Shiners at 7:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Rising Sun is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
