Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, the Oberlin Tigers couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a hard 40-26 fall against Centerville on Thursday. It was the first time this season that Oberlin let down their fans at home.
Jamari Ayrow was his usual excellent self, rushing for 287 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.5 yards per carry, and also catching a touchdown. Ayrow was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 57 yards. Bryson Thomas was another key contributor, rushing for 89 yards and a touchdown.
Oberlin's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Centerville, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-4.
Oberlin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Centerville will take on Mangham at TBD on Friday. One thing working in Mangham's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last five matches.
