Leading May River to victory were Brooke Dalton and Elizabeth Duncan. Dalton scored 14 points along with 6 steals, while Duncan scored 12 points along with 3 steals. The contest was Duncan's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nia Taylor, who scored 8 points along with 4 steals.
May River now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Beaufort, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
May River will be playing at home against Ridgeland-Hardeeville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Ridgeland-Hardeeville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Monday. As for Beaufort, they will head out on the road to face off against Bluffton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bluffton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Beaufort in South Carolina (Bluffton is ranked 40th, while Beaufort is ranked 172nd).
