The Academy of the Holy Names Jaguars can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 67-27 victory over Land O' Lakes. Winning may never get old, but Academy of the Holy Names sure is getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Lucy Morey was her usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with five steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played. Another player making a difference was Grace Gavin, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Land O' Lakes' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evyana Tavo, who scored four points along with eight rebounds.
Land O' Lakes struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Academy of the Holy Names' win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-7. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.7 points per game. As for Land O' Lakes, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-8 record this season.
Academy of the Holy Names will square off against Jefferson at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Academy of the Holy Names is facing Jefferson at the right time seeing as Jefferson is stuck on a 19-game losing streak. Land O' Lakes' road trip will continue as they head out to face Forest at 8:00 p.m. on February 7th. Forest has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
