It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Heritage Academy had no problem doing just that on Monday. They blew past the Mohave Accelerated Patriots 6-0. The result was nothing new for the Heroes, who have now won 19 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Sieana Soltero was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Gloriann Blanco was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Savana Soltero was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
The win was the fifth in a row for Heritage Academy, bringing their record up to 24-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Mohave Accelerated, they moved to 28-3 with that loss, which also ended their 17-game winning streak.
As of now, neither Heritage Academy nor the Patriots have any future games scheduled.
