The West Tallahatchie Choctaws entered their tilt with the Palmer Dragons with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. West Tallahatchie took down Palmer 61-45 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as West Tallahatchie also won the last time the pair played back in November.
West Tallahatchie's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Roosevelt Phillips, who scored 18 points. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Drexel Miller, who scored 14 points.
West Tallahatchie's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Palmer, they bumped their record down to 4-8 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Tallahatchie is on the road again on Tuesday and play against J.Z. George at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th. J.Z. George will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 279th, while West Tallahatchie is ranked 99th). As for Palmer, they will head out on the road to face off against South Panola at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Panola is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
