Softball Recap: Bellflower Has No Trouble Against Dominguez

Bellflower's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They blew past the Dominguez Dons 21-6. The Buccaneers haven't had any issues with the Dons recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Crystal Menchaca made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Menchaca was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Isabella Ordaz, who fired off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 4-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Kaitlin Lechuga was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, one triple, and two RBI.

Bellflower kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 3.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 11.8.
