Richard Winn Academy scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They took a hard 78-64 fall against the Laurens Academy Crusaders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Crusaders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 36-22 back in September.

Laurens Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Caleb Hardy led the charge by rushing for 368 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 15.3 yards per carry, and also picking up 152 receiving yards and three TDs. Hardy also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing one fumble and making 17 total tackles (5.5 for loss). Ethan Collins was another key player, rushing for 156 yards and three scores on only seven carries.

This is the second loss in a row for Richard Winn Academy and nudges their season record down to 3-5. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-0 King Academy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 94.4% over those games). As for Laurens Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Meanwhile, Laurens Academy will challenge rival King Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Hardy and Joseph Morse.
