The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. St. Teresa will look to defend their home turf on Saturday against Staunton at 1:00 PM. St. Teresa know how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matchups -- so hopefully Staunton like a good challenge.
St. Teresa brought a eight-game winning streak into their game against Shelbyville last Friday; they left with a nine-game streak. St. Teresa were fully in charge, breezing past Shelbyville 63-8. Senior Jacardia Wright was the offensive standout of the match for St. Teresa, as he rushed for 120 yards and 3 touchdowns. That makes it nine straight good games in a row from Wright.
Meanwhile, Staunton put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season. They blew past Roxana 28-6. Staunton were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Their wins bumped St. Teresa to 9-0 and Staunton to 5-4. Since neither squad is a stranger to landslide victories this season, you'd better bet it will be hard-fought showdown.
