Basketball Recap: North Lenoir Falls Despite Big Games from Cassadie Fraser and Ta'sheena Lynch

North Lenoir was the 58-54 winner over James Kenan when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The North Lenoir Hawks received a blow on Tuesday as they fell 53-36 to the James Kenan Tigers. While the Hawks didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tigers 12-8 in the first quarter.

North Lenoir's loss came despite strong showings from Ta'Sheena Lynch and Cassadie Fraser. Lynch posted eight points and six rebounds, while Fraser scored 11 points. What's more, Lynch also racked up two assists, the most she's had since back in February of 2024.

James Kenan was led to victory by Y'Anna Rivers and Aleyah Wilson. Rivers earned 21 points and eight boards, while Wilson almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.

North Lenoir is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9. As for James Kenan, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Lenoir will head out to face off against South Lenoir at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. North Lenoir is facing South Lenoir at the right time seeing as South Lenoir is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for James Kenan, they will venture away from home to take on Southwest Onslow at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
