Greely is a perfect 10-0 against Fryeburg since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Rangers are taking a road trip to square off against the Raiders at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Greely's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over Gray-New Gloucester. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rangers.
Keeler Vogt made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Vogt was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Gehrig Donnelly looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Greely got a massive performance out of Luke Piper, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Soule, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
Greely always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gray-New Gloucester only posted an OBP of .118.
Meanwhile, Fryeburg won against Plymouth on April 10th with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again last Thursday. The Raiders came out on top against Gray-New Gloucester by a score of 6-1. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Brady Chappell looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched.
At the plate, Jagger Helwig and Alex Allain did most of the damage at the plate: Helwig went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Allain went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Greely's victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 11.2 runs thus far. As for Fryeburg, their record now sits at 2-0.
Greely came out on top in a nail-biter against Fryeburg in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 3-1. Will the Rangers repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
