The Manning Monarchs will be playing at home against the Aynor Blue Jackets at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Manning has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Manning suffered their biggest loss since December 12, 2023 on Tuesday. Their rough 63-39 loss to Waccamaw might stick with them for a while. Manning was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-11.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Taniya Johnson, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tahirah Wellington, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 67-31, which was the final score in Aynor's tilt against Loris on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Aynor has suffered against Loris since January 28, 2020.
Aynor's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Terianna Richardson, who scored nine points along with four steals, and Paisley Page who scored ten points along with two steals. Hannah Lewis was another key contributor, scoring two points.
Manning's defeat dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Aynor, they dropped their record down to 12-6 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Manning against Aynor in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 54-26 win. With Manning ahead 24-4 at the half, the game was all but over already.
