The St. Joseph Regional Green Knights posted their biggest win since December 19, 2023 on Thursday. Everything went their way against Bergenfield as St. Joseph Regional made off with a 75-55 victory. Given St. Joseph Regional's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Bergenfield is ranked 170th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
St. Joseph Regional was led to victory by Anthony Pacciarelli and Jahmir Joseph. Pacciarelli scored 19 points, while Joseph scored 19 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pacciarelli has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Chaz Gray, who scored nine points.
St. Joseph Regional's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points per game. As for Bergenfield, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season.
St. Joseph Regional will be playing at home against St. Peter's Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. Peter's Prep is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Bergenfield, they will head out on the road to challenge Fair Lawn at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Fair Lawn has three straight victories, Bergenfield has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
