The Campbell Spartans were the 58-49 winner over the East Coweta Indians when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Campbell took a 80-72 hit to the loss column at the hands of East Coweta on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
East Coweta's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Qwes Williams led the charge by dropping a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Carby Martin, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Campbell now has a losing record at 10-11. As for East Coweta, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-8.
Campbell will be playing at home against Pebblebrook at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Pebblebrook is ranked 113th, while Campbell is ranked 108th). As for East Coweta, they will head out on the road to take on Carrollton at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
