The Council Cobras will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Hurley Rebels at 6:00 p.m. Council will be strutting in after a win while Hurley will be coming in after a loss.
Last Monday, Council earned a 45-32 win over Patrick Henry.
Hurley suffered their biggest defeat since December 22, 2023 on Wednesday. They suffered a tough 60-38 defeat at the hands of River View. While losing is never fun, Hurley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 372nd in Virginia, while River View is ranked 66th in West Virginia).
Council's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Hurley, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.
Council came out on top in a nail-biter against Hurley in their previous matchup on January 9th, sneaking past 48-45. Does Council have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hurley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
