The Ford Panthers were the 43-13 winner over the Wills Point Tigers when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Ford fell 39-29 to Wills Point on Friday.
Despite the loss, Ford still got an impressive performance from Zalen Morales, who rushed for 162 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also picked up 48 receiving yards. Morales is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Jeremiah Coleman was another key contributor, rushing for 66 yards and a touchdown.
Ford has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Wills Point, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Ford will look to defend their home field on Friday against Roosevelt at 7:00 p.m. Roosevelt comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Wills Point, they will head out on the road to face off against Caddo Mills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Caddo Mills is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
