The Whitehall Zephyrs will head out on the road to challenge the Nazareth Area Blue Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Whitehall scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past East Stroudsburg North 76-47 at home. Given Whitehall's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while East Stroudsburg North is ranked 131st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, even though Liberty scored an imposing 55 points on Friday, Nazareth Area still came out on top. Nazareth Area narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Liberty 58-55. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Nazareth Area has posted since December 15, 2023.
Whitehall's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-3. As for Nazareth Area, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
Whitehall ended up a good deal behind Nazareth Area when the teams last played back in March of 2021, losing 53-38. Can Whitehall avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
