The matchup between the Humble Christian Cougars and the Angleton Christian Warriors on Monday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. Humble Christian walked away with a 59-48 victory over the Warriors. The victory was some much needed relief for Humble Christian as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Leading Humble Christian to victory were Aayden Dozier and Kyron Williams. Dozier scored 20 points along with three steals, while Williams scored 12 points along with eight steals and seven rebounds. Williams also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Vickers, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks.
Humble Christian now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Angleton Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Humble Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Bears at 5:30 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully Banff focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 last Friday. As for Angleton Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
