Baseball Game Preview: Rye Cove Eagles vs. Council Cobras

Rye Cove has gone a perfect 3-0 against Council recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Cobras at 5:00 p.m. Rye Cove will be strutting in after a win while Council will be coming in after a defeat.

Rye Cove will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Thomas Walker on Friday. The Eagles' pitchers stepped up to hand the Pioneers a 12-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Pioneers: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, Council lost 23-1 to Cornerstone Christian Academy on Tuesday. The Cobras have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Council's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Rye Cove, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Rye Cove got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in March against Council by a conclusive 16-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
