The Naugatuck Greyhounds pushed their score all the way to 63 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 73-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Torrington. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (56), Naugatuck still had to take the loss.
Torrington's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but William Parkhouse led the charge by scoring 26 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Parkhouse hasn't dropped below 21 points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Isaac Fenn, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds.
Naugatuck's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Torrington, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-6.
Naugatuck will look to defend their home court on Friday against Holy Cross at 7:00 p.m. Naugatuck will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Connecticut Rankings (they are ranked 88th, while Holy Cross is ranked 27th). As for Torrington, they will head out on the road to challenge Crosby at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
