It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the ED White Commanders had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They strolled past the Blue Devils with points to spare, taking the game 50-35. The win was nothing new for ED White as they're now sitting on five straight.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead ED White to victory, but perhaps none more so than Washington Mccoy, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mccoy has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamal Scott, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
When it comes to explaining why Stanton lost, one person who can't be blamed is Raza Cottey. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds. Cottey has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times he's played.
ED White has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-12 record this season. As for Stanton, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-10.
ED White will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Riverside at 7:00 p.m. on February 10th. Hopefully ED White focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Thursday. Stanton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
