The Live Oak Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 28 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 64-36 win over Belaire at home. Given Live Oak's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 69th, while Belaire is ranked 268th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Live Oak's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Clayten Ray, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Nate Casher iv, who scored 14 points.
Live Oak pushed their record up to 8-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.5 points per game. As for Belaire, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.
Live Oak will be home for the holidays to greet Dunham at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Belaire's road trip will continue as they head out to face Woodlawn-B.R. at 4:00 p.m. on December 19th.
