Fishburne Military lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Giovanni Belisle, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Allyn Koger, who scored seven points along with two blocks.
New Covenant's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Luke Libbey, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 0 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Libbey has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Douglas Powell, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Fishburne Military's loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-14. As for New Covenant, their win bumped their record up to 12-2.
Fishburne Military will head out on the road to take on Hargrave Military Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hargrave Military Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Fishburne Military in Virginia (Hargrave Military Academy is ranked 59th, while Fishburne Military is ranked 356th). As for New Covenant, they will play host again and welcome Roanoke Catholic, where tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Roanoke Catholic is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 60.6 points per game.
