There's no place like home for the Our Lady of the Elms Panthers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They walked away with a 33-21 victory over Open Door Christian on Saturday. For Our Lady of the Elms, this counts as revenge for the 50-26 defeat the Patriots walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2019.
Our Lady of the Elms was led to victory by Pilar Hampton and Faith Farris. Hampton scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and five steals, while Farris scored 17 points along with eight rebounds. Hampton has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 14 times she's played.
Our Lady of the Elms pushed their record up to 8-8 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Open Door Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season.
Our Lady of the Elms will take on the Fighting Irish at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Vincent-St. Mary presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Panthers in Ohio (the Fighting Irish are ranked fifth, while the Panthers are ranked 684th). Open Door Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
