The Cypress Lakes Spartans will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Bridgeland Bears at 7:00 p.m. Cypress Lakes is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
Last Saturday, Cypress Lakes had to suffer through a rough 56-14 loss at the hands of Cypress Ranch. While losing is never fun, Cypress Lakes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 657th, while Cypress Ranch is ranked 311th).
Meanwhile, Bridgeland entered their tilt with Cypress Woods with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Bridgeland took down Cypress Woods 31-14 on Friday.
Bridgeland's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Allen Cuellar, who rushed for 94 yards and two touchdowns. Jett Lewis was another key contributor, rushing for 17 yards and a touchdown.
Cypress Lakes has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Bridgeland, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.
Cypress Lakes was dealt a bruising 49-3 defeat at the hands of Bridgeland in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Will Cypress Lakes have more luck at home instead of on the road?
