The Hillcrest Huskies lost against the Cottonwood Colts back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Hillcrest took a 59-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cottonwood. Hillcrest has not had much luck with Cottonwood recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Several Huskies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Damani Wilkerson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Zach Tanner was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two blocks.
Peter Oguama was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds for Cottonwood. Another player making a difference was Christopher Cox, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Hillcrest has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for Cottonwood, they pushed their record up to 16-5 with that win, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season.
Hillcrest will take on Tooele at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tooele will be up against Hillcrest's rather soft defense (which has allowed 50.75 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive showing. As for Cottonwood, they will head out on the road to challenge Stansbury at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cottonwood has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 642 points over their last nine matches.
