The Archbishop Carroll Lions stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 74-33 win over Dunbar. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-15.
It was another big night for Heidi Williams, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Aliyah Duncan, who scored 13 points.
When it comes to explaining why Dunbar lost, one person who can't be blamed is Emorean Thomas. Despite the final result, she scored 16 points. Kirstin Holt was another key contributor, scoring six points.
The win makes it two in a row for Archbishop Carroll and bumps their season record up to 13-2. As for Dunbar, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Archbishop Carroll will challenge Elizabeth Seton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Elizabeth Seton will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Dunbar will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against McKinley Tech at 5:30 p.m. on January 22nd. Hopefully McKinley Tech focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Wednesday.
