The Shamrock Irish will be playing at home against the Quanah Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Shamrock might've scored the first points on Friday, but it was Wheeler who claimed the real prize. Shamrock fell to Wheeler 34-28. Shamrock has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Even though the team lost, they still came through with several impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Philip Cook, who threw for 276 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.1% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Rodney Holmes, who picked up 170 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Quanah fell victim to Clarendon's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 40-0 loss at the hands of the Broncos.
Shamrock now has a losing record at 3-4. Quanah has been struggling this season, as they've lost six of their first seven matchups, which leaves them at a 1-6 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Shamrock against Quanah in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 49-6 win. Will Shamrock repeat their success, or does Quanah have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
