Baseball Recap: Holmes' Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Holmes came tearing into Tuesday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over the Pasquotank County Panthers. For the Aces, this counts as revenge for the 6-2 win the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Myles Cobb made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Zach Walston was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Ashton Stallings, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Holmes' record now sits at 9-2. As for Pasquotank County, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Holmes will have a chance to go back-to-back against Pasquotank County: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
