Michael Valencia Earns League's Top Spot
Starting off the list is South El Monte's Michael Valencia, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Thursday Valencia forced a fumble and made six total tackles. The performance also marked the most rushing yards (76) he has had since back in September of 2023. He was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 66 yards.

El Monte's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Taboada and El Monte will challenge South El Monte at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

A Season-Best Effort from Armando Renteria Leads Rosemead over Arroyo
On Friday, Rosemead had to settle for second even though Armando Renteria put up the best numbers he has all season. Renteria picked up 168 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He torched the secondary when he pulled down a catch that went for 80 yards.
Rosemead is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5. Renteria and Rosemead will look to defend their home field on Friday against Mountain View at 7:00 p.m.

On Thursday, South El Monte got the W thanks in part to Matthew Medina playing the best football he has all season. Medina threw for 248 yards and three touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes.
Medina must have Mountain View's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Medina saw the Vikings), he threw for 211 yards and four touchdowns on only 16 passes.
