This season hasn't been kind to the Grand Traverse Academy Mustangs, who are still winless after their 11th match. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 51-31 walloping at the hands of Forest Area on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Grand Traverse Academy has suffered since December 11, 2023.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nate Dix, who scored five points along with two steals and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Dix posted two or more blocks.
Grand Traverse Academy bumped their record down to 0-11 with that loss, which was their 15th straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.7 points per game. As for Forest Area, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-8.
Grand Traverse Academy will head out on the road to take on Catholic Central at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Catholic Central is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak. As for Forest Area, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Mancelona at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. Mancelona presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Forest Area in Michigan (Mancelona is ranked 204th, while Forest Area is ranked 703rd).
