Mountain Ridge had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victors by a 16-2 margin over the Orem Tigers on Wednesday. For the Sentinels, this counts as revenge for the 10-4 victory the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2025.
Mountain Ridge got a massive performance out of Cooper Goff, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most runs Goff has posted since back in April of 2025. Brody Garrard was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Mountain Ridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .610. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Orem only posted an OBP of .333.
Orem's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-3.
Coming up, Mountain Ridge will challenge West Field at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Orem, they will take on Salem Hills at 10:30 a.m. on Friday.
