Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Escambia County Blue Devils walked away with it. They came out on top against the Hornets by a score of 51-42 on Saturday.
Leading Escambia County to victory were Stephen Williams and Cleo Bolar jr.. Williams dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds, while Bolar jr. scored 20 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Williams has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 13 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lorenzo Arnold jr., who scored six points along with three steals.
Escambia County is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. As for Bullock County, their loss dropped their record down to 16-11.
Escambia County will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against UMS-Wright Prep at 10:30 a.m. on February 19th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Alabama (UMS-Wright Prep is ranked 163rd, while Escambia County is ranked 143rd). Bullock County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
