The Blackstone-Millville Chargers lost against the Sutton Sammies on January 5th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Blackstone-Millville took a 53-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sutton.
Blackstone-Millville lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ousman Touray, who scored 12 points. Touray continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan McCourt, who scored ten points.
Sutton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cam Benedict, who scored 17 points. Charles Marchand was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Blackstone-Millville's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Sutton, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blackstone-Millville will face off against Nipmuc Regional at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Nipmuc Regional presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Blackstone-Millville in Massachusetts (Nipmuc Regional is ranked 98th, while Blackstone-Millville is ranked 231st). As for Sutton, they will head out on the road to square off against Whitinsville Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
