The De La Salle Meteors are taking a road trip to challenge the Aurora Central Catholic Chargers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. De La Salle is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.
De La Salle came out on top against Trinity on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run third inning. The Meteors put the hurt on the Blazers with a sharp 12-2 win. Considering the Meteors have won 12 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lilah Serrano made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, De La Salle got a big performance out of Analise Francois, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Abby Trendle was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
De La Salle hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in nine consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, it may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Aurora Central Catholic ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Nazareth Academy 2-1.
Corina Miller spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Morgan Vaghy, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple.
De La Salle pushed their record up to 19-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Aurora Central Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.
De La Salle skirted past Aurora Central Catholic 2-1 in their previous matchup on April 8th. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Meteors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
