Baseball Recap: Intrinsic Now 9-1 over Last Ten Games

Intrinsic lost to Bulls College Prep back in May of 2016, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Bulls with a sharp 20-9 victory. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Adrian Benitez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also big at the plate, earning two RBI and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Intrinsic got a massive performance out of Marco Rodriguez, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and five RBI. Those five RBI gave Rodriguez a new career-high. Angel Munoz was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with five stolen bases and four runs.

Intrinsic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in five consecutive games.

Intrinsic has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Bulls College Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-10.

Intrinsic and Bulls College Prep are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Mustangs will face off against Prosser at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Intrinsic's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 10.5 runs per game this season. As for Bulls College Prep, they will take on Kennedy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
