Chippewa kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They were dealt a 38-0 defeat at the hands of the East Canton Hornets. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.
Brock Bennett threw for 31 yards on five of eight attempts. Ian Radebaugh was his top target, picking up 31 receiving yards.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead East Canton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dillon Anderson, who rushed for 54 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen McCroskey, who threw for 164 yards and one TD while completing 84.6% of his passes.
Looking ahead, Chippewa will square off against Tuslaw at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for East Canton, they will face off against Wellsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
