Peoria is 8-2 against Cactus since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Peoria Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Cactus Cobras at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Peoria waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Estrella Foothills by a score of 61-53.
It was another big night for Desmone Brooks-conley, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Nehemiah Ward, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Cactus can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Goldwater 80-52 on the road. Given Cactus' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while Goldwater is ranked 285th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bradey Henige continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 20 rebounds. Henige is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Tyler Hutton, who scored 20 points along with three steals.
Peoria's win bumped their record up to 6-15. As for Cactus, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Peoria hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 50.7 points per game. It's a different story for Cactus, though, as they've been averaging only 67.7 points per game. The only thing between Peoria and another offensive beatdown is Cactus. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Peoria took a serious blow against Cactus in their previous matchup last Wednesday, falling 64-37. Can Peoria avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
