The Burns Broncs's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They took down Niobrara County 43-28. The win was just what Burns needed coming off of a 72-37 defeat in their prior game.
Burns was led to victory by Jordan Griess and Brooklyn Kopetzky. Griess scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals, while Kopetzky scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kopetzky has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Josie Barrett, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and five steals.
Burns' win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Niobrara County, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
Burns won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Pine Bluffs at 2:30 p.m. on January 20th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Wyoming (Pine Bluffs is ranked 27th, while Burns is ranked 33rd). Niobrara County won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Southeast at 1:30 p.m. on January 20th. Southeast's defense has only allowed 24.8 points per game this season, so Niobrara County's offense will have their work cut out for them.
