Kamiak has gone 9-1 against Cascade recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Knights will head out to square off against the Bruins at 4:00 p.m. Kamiak is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Kamiak needed a bit of extra time to put away Jackson. They skirted past the Timberwolves 7-6. Seven seems to be a good number for the Knights as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Synclair Mawudeku made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over ten innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off 14 hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tyler Karabach, who scored a run while going 2-for-5. Gabby Veighey was another key player, going 1-for-5 with one triple and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Cascade and Glacier Peak faced off in a Battle of the Bears on Monday. The Bruins came up short against the Grizzlies, falling 11-0. The Bruins haven't had much luck with the Grizzlies recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
The win (which was Kamiak's third in a row) raised their record to 7-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Cascade, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Kamiak hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Cascade struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Kamiak took their win against Cascade when the teams last played back in April of 2021 by a conclusive 12-0 score. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Bruins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
