Despite the defeat, Winston County saw an underclassman step up: Lynleigh Cobb dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Cobb is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last seven games she's played. Marli Stewart was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Phil Campbell has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. As for Winston County, their loss dropped their record down to 12-17.
Phil Campbell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Winston County won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Bulldogs at 11:00 a.m. on February 3rd. Lamar County is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
