The Bloomfield Bobcats lost against the Pojoaque Valley Elks/Elkettes back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Bloomfield took a 62-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pojoaque Valley.
Sam Slivers and Andrew Florez certainly did their best on Monday to try and avoid the loss. Slivers scored 20 points along with five rebounds, while Florez dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.
Pojoaque Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Joziah Salazar, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Dalian Lopez, who scored 14 points.
Bloomfield's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Pojoaque Valley, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bloomfield will take on Sandia Prep at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Mexico (Sandia Prep is ranked 139th, while Bloomfield is ranked 119th). Pojoaque Valley won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Gallup at 7:00 p.m. on December 5th.
