The Upton Bobcats waltzed into their match on Monday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against New Underwood by a score of 60-48. Given Upton's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 11th in Wyoming, while New Underwood is ranked 94th in South Dakota), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, New Underwood still got an impressive performance from Eli Kelley, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cash Albers, who scored 12 points.
Upton's win bumped their record up to 11-1. As for New Underwood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Upton will take on Hulett at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for New Underwood, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Newell at 5:30 p.m. on January 23rd.
