Volleyball Recap: Douglas County Starts Season with Win at Home

Douglas County gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Osborne Cardinals. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Douglas County easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-20.

Allysan Morris paced Douglas County's offense, picking up five kills. Morris got some help from Kynedie Thomas and her six assists. Thomas was also solid from the service line: she led the team with eight aces.

Coincidentally, Douglas County and Osborne will both be playing South Cobb the next time they take the court. The Cardinals will host the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Tigers will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
