Football Recap: Upper St. Clair Skates Past Canon-Mcmillan with Ease

While Upper St. Clair put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Canon-McMillan. The Panthers blew past the Big Macs, posting a 48-0 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Panthers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Big Macs are ranked 45th).

Ethan Hellmann was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 241 yards and three TDs while completing 77.8% of his passes. What's more, he racked up 158.6 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Sanderson, who picked up 68 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Upper St. Clair, adding 16 points to the final score. Jacobo Echeverria Lozano delivered a perfect 4-4 game.

Upper St. Clair has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 14 points this season. As for Canon-McMillan, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Upper St. Clair has already played their next matchup, a 49-6 win against Franklin Regional on the 5th. As for Canon-McMillan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 37-28 victory against South Fayette on the 5th.
