Volleyball Recap: Hoosic Valley Gets the Win

The Hoosic Valley Hawks beat Canajoharie/Fort Plain 3-1 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hawks.

Hoosic Valley was especially dominant in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 22-25, 25-18, 25-15.

Hannah Reidy was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 28 digs and two aces. She has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more digs the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Madison Davis, who had 12 digs.

They weren't the only good servers: Hoosic Valley was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in three consecutive matches.

Hoosic Valley's victory bumped their record up to 15-7-2. As for Canajoharie/Fort Plain, their defeat ended a four-match streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-5.

Looking ahead, Hoosic Valley will face off against Cambridge at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Canajoharie/Fort Plain, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Galway at 6:30 p.m. on the 21st.
