The Leadore Mustangs waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 54-45 victory over Grace Lutheran. That's another feather in the cap for Leadore, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Leadore's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Taylor Ayers led the charge by scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds and six blocks. Ayers hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Mason Herbst, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Leadore's victory bumped their record up to 8-15. As for Grace Lutheran, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-10.
Leadore will head out on the road to challenge Rockland at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Rockland is coming into the game with eight straight victories at home, so Leadore is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum. Grace Lutheran does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
