The Concord Christian Academy Minutemen lost against the Greenwood Mennonite Flames back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Concord Christian Academy was outmatched by Greenwood Mennonite at home and fell 65-12. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Concord Christian Academy in their matchups with Greenwood Mennonite: they've now lost six in a row.
Greenwood Mennonite had a senior duo take command as Faith Troyer almost dropped a triple-double on 17 points, 11 rebounds, and nine steals and Laci Mast scored 20 points along with six steals. Mast is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Olivia Smoker was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
Concord Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Greenwood Mennonite, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with that victory, which was their tenth straight on the road.
Concord Christian Academy will be playing at home against Fairwinds Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fairwinds Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 17 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Greenwood Mennonite, they will head out on the road to square off against Salisbury at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
