Evergreen has won five straight games at home, while Golden has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Cougars will host the Demons at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It was a proper cat-fight when Evergreen challenged Pomona on Tuesday. The Cougars walked away with a 10-6 victory over the Panthers. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won five in a row.

Brody March made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on James Mauro, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI. Jack Berendes was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one stolen base.
Evergreen kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Golden posted their closest victory since April 2nd on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out D'Evelyn 5-4.
Gunnar Hetrick looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Dylan Paulson was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Boucher, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Golden has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Evergreen, their victory bumped their record up to 12-4-1.
Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Evergreen hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .350. However, it's not like Golden struggles in that department as they've averaged .355. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
